Evans was the premier right fielder for two decades (1970 - 1989).
There were two other outfielders recognized for their defensive prowess during that same time period; A. Dawson (4GG-CF, 4GG-RF) and G. Maddox (8GG-CF). Evans led all with most assists (151), the least amount of errors (57), most double plays (40) and highest fielding percentage (.988).
